An evening educational experience for learning about bats.
Have you ever seen bats flying around at night? Are you curious to learn more about these nocturnal, flying mammals? Wenatchee River Institute is teaming up with Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife (WDFW), Bats Northwest, and Happy Valley Bats for a night of family friendly bat education.
Join us for a bat talk to learn all about bats, their importance, and what we can do to support these animals. We will highlight conservation actions you can take; from participating in community science, to making bat houses and improving bat habitat where you live.
After Bat Night, check out Bat Box building classes at NCW Woodshop in Cashmere. NCW Woodshop will be at Bat Night to show off the Bat Boxes and how they work for bats. Sign up to build your own in July or August and create bat habitat in our community.
Unfortunately we are not able to capture live bats this year due to the dangers of White Nose Syndrome to our local bats.
