Join us and Sasha Dingle, Leavenworth professional skier, to host a screening of the new ski film, Nexus.

Right before the fall of Saigon, two teenage sisters, Cúc and Liên (Daisy and Lotus), escaped from the Vietnam War and fled to the U.S. as refugees. As they settled into their new homes, they found community in skiing and the mountains. Their passion for the mountains vibrantly lives on in their daughters, Sasha Dingle, and Krystin Norman, who are pro skiers and leaders in their communities. Their segment in Nexus shows how quickly change can happen in one generation when someone falls in love with skiing. We follow their journey to the mountains and how they honor their mother’s lineage by creating space and community for other women and underrepresented athletes.

Called “the ski film we’ve all been waiting for” Nexus is produced and directed by women. The overwhelming majority of cinematographers, photographers and editors working on Nexus are female. Additional segments feature: Michelle Parker, Lucy Sackbauer, Brooklyn Bell, Veronica Paulsen, Ingrid Stensvaag and Caite Zeliff. Nexus won “Best Storytelling” award at the IF3 International Freeski Film Festival.

Sasha is a skier turned meditation teacher, and the founder and director of Mountain Mind Project. As a ski and mountain bike athlete, Sasha won the Freeskiing World Tour, and competed internationally on the Freeride World Tour, NorAm circuit, and Enduro World Series.

This is a FREE event with a donation basket at the door.
Doors open at 6:30pm for a community social with beer and wine available for purchase. The presentation will start at 7:00pm
