Basket weaving was and still is an important cultural tradition of the p’squosa people and other Native American tribes. Join Julie Edwards, Bernadine Phillips, and Brandon Finley for a Traditional Indigenous Basket Weaving Workshop. Bernadine is a p’squosa (Wenatchi) band member. Julie Edwards is p’squosa (Wenatchi, Nez Perce and Yakama. Brandon is from the Sinixt band. They all have been practicing basket weaving for many years. They are excited to share this traditional practice with you!
Each day will be focused on one type of basket.
Day one will be learning to weave a round basket. Day two will be learning to weave a flat basket.
You can register for individual classes or both.
Class limit: 14 participants each day
Cost: Individual classes – $60, Full weekend – $120 nonmembers, $100 members
