LEAVENWORTH VILLAGE OF LIGHTS TO “BRIGHTEN YOUR SEASON” IN THE SAFEST POSSIBLE WAYS
If ever there was a holiday season that could use a little brightening, 2020 is the one.
In the interests of keeping your holidays happy and healthy, The Bavarian Village of Leavenworth is rolling out a host of creative new ways to “Brighten Your Season” without heightening your risk amid the ongoing pandemic.
Traditionally, the Bavarian Village of Leavenworth, is packed with holiday revelers enjoying the annual Christmas Lighting Festival. But festivals mean crowds, so for the first time since 1966, the town decided to cancel the festival and replace it with an entire set of new, safety-centered approaches to holiday fun.
THE VILLAGE OF LIGHTS SHINES ON
One of America’s most stunning Christmas lighting displays with more than half a million lights adorning Front Street Park and the downtown corridor, will shine as brightly this year as ever before – but gone are the weekend lighting events. Instead, the lights will be on EVERY SINGLE DAY from dusk until dawn starting at Thanksgiving all the way until Valentine’s Day in February. This will allow visitors to enjoy the holiday lights anytime, especially mid-week and in the months surrounding the holidays and help avoid large congregations of people.
THE VILLAGE OF LIGHTS GOES VIRTUAL
In addition, a new live stream from downtown Leavenworth means that the Village of Lights can be enjoyed from the comfort and safety of your own home. Link coming soon!

In addition to all these safety-minded holiday happenings, measures have been taken all over town to help keep you safe. Free masks and hand sanitizing stations are available around the downtown core. The three central blocks of Front Street has also been closed to vehicle traffic to allow for greater social distancing for visitors and locals alike in the downtown core.
This may not be a holiday season like any other we’ve ever experienced, but Leavenworth remains committed to filling your hearts with holiday joy. Brighten Your Season with the Leavenworth Village of Lights.
