Norwegians Bring Ski Jumping to the PNW & Leavenworth
Red Barn at Wenatchee River Institute 347 Division Street, Leavenworth, WA, United StatesJohn Lundin, award-winning author and principal ski historian in Washington State, will be presenting from his fourth book, ‘Ski Jumping in WA State: A Nordic Tradition’. Ski jumping was established by the Norwegians here in Leavenworth in 1928 and eventually International Jumping Contests went on annually through 1978 on what is now known as Bakke Hill.
