
The Bavarian Village is ready for spring! In addition to the Chamber’s traditional Maifest festivities and dancing on May 11-12, our wood carvers on May 18-19, and our sponsorship of the Alphorn Celebration May 24-26, we have added other big events to this page. TRADITIONAL MAIFEST CELEBRATION
May 10-12
We’ve been doing Maifest right since 1971! This weekend will fill your entertainment card right up with Maipole dancing, Bavarian music, our annual Festzug (or Grand March) where town folk dress in their Bavarian best to welcome you to town, and so much more! We love our Bavarian traditions and this weekend is full of them.

CELEBRATE MOM WITH A MOTHER’S DAY 5K WALK/RUN!
May 12th @ 9am
Show Mom some love and treat her to a weekend in Leavenworth with live music, flower crowns (after all moms are queens), giveaways, and a special Mother’s Day 5k! Her weekend would be even more special with some shopping, wine tasting, and delicious dining. Go ahead and spoil her, she deserves it!

Come bird with us, discovering the natural beauty and wonders of North Central Washington!
Celebrate the return of migratory birds in the midst of peak wildflower season. Enjoy the excitement of birding field trips and workshops. Take part in speaker events, music, visual arts, picnics, and activities for all ages and abilities. All of this is happening in beautiful Leavenworth, WA and throughout the Wenatchee River Valley. Bird Fest happens in association with World Migratory Bird Day. Bird Fest contributes a list of all birds seen during the festival to eBird, the world’s largest biodiversity-related community science project.
LIVE CHAINSAW CARVING
May 18-19
Join us on Front Street where five professional chainsaw carvers will create large-scale, German-inspired carvings. These renowned carvers, local to the Pacific Northwest, will use a variety of chainsaws and other special tools to create their masterpieces. You’ll be able to watch them carve and check out the pieces they will have for sale on Saturday and Sunday.
Carvers will be demonstrating their carving both Saturday and Sunday throughout the day. And in between carving, AlpenFolk will entertain the crowd with authentic music of the alps!
