• Library Night: Stories in the Stars

    WVAC member Paul Tomas will lead a night sky tour at the Leavenworth Library, offering attendees an opportunity to learn about and appreciate the celestial sphere above them. Meet on the lawn of Lions Club Park, outside the library. Bring a blanket or chair and settle in for some relaxing stargazing and learning.

    More Details: Through storytelling, visual aids, and guided exploration, participants will discover constellations such as the Ursa Major, Boötes, Hercules, Cygnus, Cassiopeia, Delphinus, and learn techniques to trace other stars and asterisms. Paul will share star lore, scientific insights, and utilize glow-in-the-dark boards to enhance visualization.

     

  • Local Children’s Author Reading and Storytelling Workshop

    Join us for a special event with local author Kristin Joy Wilks as she reads from her newest early chapter book, “Phooey Kerflooey vs. The Deep, Deep Dark!” Followed by a short interactive storytelling workshop where kids will rewrite part of the book and act out each other’s works. Recommended ages: K-4th grade.
