The Village of Lights continues! Our famous Christmas lights are on every day from approximately 6 am – 11 pm.

Come join us this January for Leavenworth’s Winter Karneval as we honor a German tradition dating back to the thirteenth century, commonly referred to as ‘Fasching’. You can expect to see a blend of familiar activities, like ice carving and fireworks over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, along with new entertainment that will be spread out during the rest of the month, making Leavenworth the perfect winter destination all month long.

January 4

Dia de los Reyes Celebration – Three King’s Day (Dreikönigstag in Germany)
1:00 pm-3:30 pm – Snowshoe walks and Children’s activities @ Wenatchee River Insititute
3:30 pm – Procession to the Leavenworth Festhalle
4:00 pm-6:00 pm – Food, dance performance, Three Kings presentation @ the Leavenworth Festhalle
6:30 pm – Procession to Kiosco (Front Street Gazebo)
7-8 pm – Performance by Kataleya with Mariachi performance @ Kiosco

Every winter Leavenworth shines bright with over half a million lights from 6 AM until 11 PM each day from Thanksgiving thru the last day of February! There is no charge to visit Leavenworth and see the lights, so plan to visit our beautiful Bavarian Alpine Village – it’s like living inside a magical snow globe!

  • Gazebo entertainment including choirs, bands, musicians, carolers, and more!
    • Fridays 4-8 PM
    • Saturdays and Sundays 11 AM – 7 PM
  • Arrival of Santa, Mrs. Claus, Rudolph, and friends!
    • Saturdays and Sundays at Noon at the Gazebo
  • Photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus
    • Thursdays from 2-3 PM at the Gazebo then 3-4 PM in the Festhalle
    • Fridays from 2-3 PM at the Gazebo then 3-4 PM in the Festhalle
    • Saturdays and Sundays from 12-1:30 PM at the Gazebo, then 2-4 PM in the Festhalle
  • Strolling Carolers in the downtown village!
    • Mondays-Thursdays from 5-7 PM
  • Fun Activities in the Leavenworth Festhalle – Gingerbread House Exhibition, Crafts for Kids, Story Corner, Santa Costumes from Around the World, Photo Opportunities, Letters to Santa, Gift Wrapping Station, Hot Cocoa and Snacks, Official Merchandise, and more! Plus the Festhalle is a great place to warm up!
    • Sundays – Thursdays open from Noon – 4 PM

Please note that all events and activities end early on December 24th, Christmas Eve

If you want to see the Christmastown lights with snow and enjoy the town without the large crowds, January or February is a great time to come! The lights are on every day thru the end of February.

Autumn Leaf Festival

Autumn Leaf Festival – Leavenworth’s longest-running festival – returns to celebrate this enchanting time of year with its 60th festival. Highlights include food booths, music in
the park, the kid’s parade, and the Grand Parade with the 2024 Royal Lady.
