Join us for an evening of creativity while enjoying the delicious wines of Rocky Pond Estates in their elegant Leavenworth tasting room! We will lead you through the step-by-step process, and beginner artists are welcome! All art supplies plus expert instruction are provided. All ages welcomed.

Wednesday Wenatchee Birding

Walla Walla Point Park 1351 Walla Walla Ave, Wenatchee

Go birding with knowledgeable WRI staff around Walla Walla Point Park and the Horan Natural Area in Wenatchee! All birding skill levels are welcome. Need binoculars? We have loaner binoculars that you can borrow.

Come prepared for the weather. This event will happen rain or shine!

Trail difficulty level: beginner level (2 miles)
Trail is wide enough for ADA access, but trails are mostly gravel and compact earth.
Meet in the north parking lot of Walla Walla Point Park at 7:30am. The plan is to finish by 9:30am.

Fly Tying Workshop Series @ Wenatchee River Institute

Come learn the basics of fly tying to make you successful as you fish our local rivers! There is nothing like catching a fish with a fly you hand tied!

Enjoy small group instruction provided by the Wenatchee Valley Fly Fishers and volunteers.Each student will walk away with an understanding of beginning fly tying techniques, including the use of tools and various fly-tying materials enabling independent tying of diverse patterns. All materials and tools are provided, and students will leave with 6-8 flies to get started on fishing adventures!

PRICE: $75, non-member, $60- WRI member. Each ticket includes all five nights.

Planetarium Night Sky Viewing

Join WRI to explore the stars and our solar system. We will start our evening by entering our dome shaped planetarium for a realistic view of our night sky. Witness the sky during different seasons throughout the year, learn winter constellations and get to know our sun, moon and stars like never before. We’ll travel through space to explore the planets and moons in our solar system.

After the planetarium, if the evening gives us clear skies, we’ll have an opportunity to do some stargazing.

Community Seed Swap

Free Community Seed Swap! Join WRI on March 19th from 6:00-7:30pm to swap seeds or just grab seeds! All are welcome!

It’s time to start planning garden and planting seeds indoors! If you have seeds to share & trade – great! If you don’t have seeds but are interested in gardening and getting seeds to get you started – great! Let’s kick off the spring season by gathering together!

Registration for the 2024 garden season will happen soon after the seed swap. If you are interested in having your own plot, come down to learn more!

You can stop by for a short while or set up a station and be there the whole time! Some seed envelopes and paper to make envelopes will be provided but if you can, please also bring your own containers for seeds!
