Go birding with knowledgeable WRI staff around Walla Walla Point Park and the Horan Natural Area in Wenatchee! All birding skill levels are welcome. Need binoculars? We have loaner binoculars that you can borrow.

Trail is wide enough for ADA access, but trails are mostly gravel and compact earth.

Paint Bird & Berries Jan 30
Join us for an evening of creativity and paint “Bird & Berries” while enjoying the delicious wines of Rocky Pond Estates in their elegant Leavenworth tasting room! We will lead you through the step-by-step process, and beginner artists are welcome! All art supplies plus expert instruction are provided.
Wine, charcuterie, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages all available for purchase separately.
Join WRI to explore the stars and our solar system. We will start our evening by entering our dome shaped planetarium for a realistic view of our night sky. Witness the sky during different seasons throughout the year, learn winter constellations and get to know our sun, moon and stars like never before. We’ll travel through space to explore the planets and moons in our solar system.
After the planetarium, if the evening gives us clear skies, we’ll have an opportunity to have a guided walk with Dr. Cassandra Fallscheer, Associate Professor of Physics at Central Washington University.

These clinics are for all abilities and experience levels who are looking to take their skiing to the next level. We’ll offer a lesson for people who have never practiced the techniques before and offer instruction to skiers with more experience and skills who are ready to learn more. Our 5 hour clinics include a ski-in lunch at Mountain Springs Lodge.

John Lundin, award-winning author and principal ski historian in Washington State, will be presenting from his fourth book, ‘Ski Jumping in WA State: A Nordic Tradition’. Ski jumping was established by the Norwegians here in Leavenworth in 1928 and eventually International Jumping Contests went on annually through 1978 on what is now known as Bakke Hill.
