Village of Lights: Winter Karneval

The Village of Lights continues! Our famous Christmas lights are on every day from approximately 6 am – 11 pm.

Come join us this January for Leavenworth’s Winter Karneval as we honor a German tradition dating back to the thirteenth century, commonly called ‘Fasching’. You can expect to see a blend of familiar activities, like ice carving and fireworks over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, along with new entertainment spread throughout the month, making Leavenworth the perfect winter destination all month long.

Monthlong Schedule:

January 10th and 11th (Saturday & Sunday)
Fire Dancers @ Front St Park Gazebo:
5:00 pm, 6:30 pm, 7:30 pm Saturday
4:00 pm,  5:00 pm, 6:30 pm Sunday

 

January 18th (Saturday)
Live Ice Carving @ Front Street Park: Noon-3:00 pm

 

January 19th (Sunday)
Live Ice Carving @ Front Street Park: Noon-3:00 pm

Annual Fireworks Show Over Town: 6:00 pm

Fasching Pub Crawl

Masquerade masks and colorful beads will be available at each stop around town.

Decorate Your Own Fasching Karneval Mask @ Leavenworth Art Haus

Decorate your own Fasching mask for Winter Karneval at the Leavenworth Art Haus! Every day from 11:00 AM – 6: 00 PM through the end of the month (while supplies last).

Blank masks supplied by the Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce and paint supplies furnished by the Leavenworth Art Haus. A fun, family-friendly activity to get you in the spirit of Winter Karneval! Cost is $10.

Winter Karneval: Fasching Pub Crawl

Come join us this January 26th through January 28th (Friday through Sunday) for Leavenworth’s Winter Karneval as we honor a German tradition dating back to the thirteenth century, commonly referred to as ‘Fasching’.  

Similar to Mardi Gras, grab a masquerade mask at one of Leavenworth’s participating locations then make your way through town collecting beads at each stop.

Head out on a PNW snowshoe adventure with the Wood Family- through our vineyards and orchards, while taking in the views and magical scenes of a Winter Wonderland! On this wine journey at Icicle Ridge Winery, you will enjoy a casual snowshoe hike, homemade Gluhwein (Hot-Spiced Wine), a Welcome Home bonfire, locally catered meal with the family, a special winter feature….and of course your favorite IRW Wines to pair! Resort Yoga For All Levels @ Sleeping Lady Resort

Join us every Saturday for an hour of zen to relax, rejuvenate, and renew for the weekend! Our instructor will base the class on your needs and lead you through a practice to focus on the things you are looking for this week.
Registration begins at 9:30am in the resort lobby area where you check-in, pay and get your card punched. We provide mats, bolsters, blocks, blankets, and straps but you are welcome to bring your own. $16 for off-site guests and $10 for resort guests, collect 5 punches on your card and get your 6th class free!

Begin the year with new discoveries! Starting from the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery, join Wenatchee River Institute naturalist guides on a one-mile snowshoe trail along beautiful Icicle Creek.

Make sure to dress in warm layers.

All skill levels are welcome, with snowshoes, gaiters and poles provided.
