Renowned for its gorgeous melodies and dazzling vocal fireworks, I Puritani returns to the Met on New Year’s Eve in the company’s first new production of Bellini’s final masterpiece in nearly 50 years. Directed by Charles Edwards and conducted by Marco Armiliato, the production stars Lisette Oropesa and Lawrence Brownlee as star-crossed lovers Elvira and Arturo, alongside Artur Ruciński and Christian Van Horn, in a powerful story of love and political division during the English Civil War.
