Robert Baumann played his first professional accordion gig at age 12 and has been playing professionally at restaurants, wineries and private events ever since for the past 60+ years!

He played upright bass for 30-years with Leavenworth’s beloved Alpine music group, AlpenFolk, and is delighted to be back in town entertaining Leavenworth guests on accordion with his broad background of Bavarian & Austrian music.

Robert speaks German fluently and his music provides the perfect ambience for guests visiting our amazing Bavarian Village.

The Leavenworth Alphorns take great pleasure in showcasing the Alphorn and promoting the alpine theme in Leavenworth and beyond.  Their public appearances often include a bit of alphorn education and, of course, photo ops!

The Alphorn serenade will occur every Saturday at 5:30 pm at the Gazebo in Front Street Park, from June 1st through August 31st.

Although he plays other regional genres of music, Chris’ primary focus is the traditional folk music of Bavaria and Austria. He continues to add tunes to his repertoire, and innovations to his technique, in hopes of keeping his music fresh and enjoyable for his audience.

For the kiddos a 15,000 sq foot Kinderplatz has been added, free for kids 12 and under, with activities, games, a root beer garden, a 62ft Ferris Wheel, and more! It’s time to grab your best Trachten (traditional Bavarian garments) and make plans to celebrate Oktoberfest in America’s unofficial Bavarian capital.

There is no charge to visit Leavenworth and see the lights, so plan to visit our beautiful Bavarian Alpine Village – it’s like living inside a magical snow globe!

If you want to see the Christmastown lights with snow and enjoy the town without the large crowds, January or February is a great time to come! The lights are on every day thru the end of February.
