Snow Experiences in Leavenworth

A perennial fixture on the annual lists of the country’s (and in some cases, the world’s) top winter/holiday destinations, Leavenworth’s Bavarian-themed, snow globe-like setting makes it a wonderland for all. LEAVENWORTH WINTER SPORTS CLUB (LVSC)

Enjoy a wide range of activities and perfectly groomed corduroy trails with Leavenworth Winter Sports Club. Operating since 1982, the LWSC was based around recreational activities at the “Ski Hill,” only two miles from downtown. Today, LWSC offers a two rope tow, a Nordic Jumping Hill, a tubing hill and eight kilometers of Nordic trails, of which five stay open for night skiing. After many years of growth and popularity amongst the Leavenworth ski community, LWSC oversees and maintains three additional locations with 26 kilometers of trails and scenic views of surrounding peaks. Looking to mountain bike, even in the snow? LWSC has adopted the fast growing activity of fat biking, with tires that are 4.25 inches or wider, perfect for any snow conditions.

SKI RESORTS

Whether you chase powder, are an expert carver, or are brand new to the slopes, the ski resorts surrounding Leavenworth have varied terrain for all levels. With ski resorts located within driving distance from Leavenworth, Stevens Pass is 35 miles to the northwest and Mission Ridge is 36 miles to the southeast. For first timers, both ski resorts provide lessons and rentals to gear anyone up for the bunny hill. Experienced skiers can indulge in the backcountry trails after any fresh snowfall. Gather your family and friends, pack the car and head to the closest ski resort for the day or spend a night skiing under the stars.

Between 150 inches of snowfall and 150 miles of terrain, Leavenworth has been named one of the premiere destinations for snowmobiles. With guides and tours at your fingertips, Leavenworth has snowmobiling outfitters waiting to plan your next adventure. A great activity for family and friends with all levels of experience, companies will prepare riders with the basics before exploring the snow packed trails.

SLEIGH RIDES

Cozy up with blankets during this romantic fun-filled adventure in an old-fashioned sleigh as horses dash through the snow. Leavenworth Sleigh Rides, Eagle Creek Ranch and Icicle Outfitters and Guides are three great outfitters that will take you through the meadows, woods and valleys. LEAVENWORTH ADVENTURE PARK

With 360-degree helix circle turns and incredible views, Leavenworth Adventure Park is Washington State’s first Alpine Coaster. Located at the entrance of Tumwater Canyon, the park is a short walk from Leavenworth’s downtown and welcomes people of all ages. Built for thrill seekers, the park contains four main attractions: Tumwater Twister Alpine Coaster, Alpine Ascent Climbing Wall, Bavarian Bungee Bounce Trampoline and Gems of The Enchantments Mining Sluice. Open all year-round, the amusement park will operate rain, snow or shine to create memorable experiences for all. The park also features an 8,500 square foot Guest Service Center that offers food, merchandise, party space and a viewing area.
