- Arrive about 10 minutes early. Tours run on a tight schedule, and free parking is available for ticketed guests (overflow lots are available on busy days).
- A short presentation, then the herd. Your visit starts with a brief educational talk about reindeer — including a chance to hold massive shed antlers — before you head into the enclosure to feed the herd by hand.
- Height rule. Guests taller than 55 inches enter the main reindeer enclosure with the full herd. Guests under 55″ tall, along with anyone using a wheelchair, scooter, or walker, visit through “Cupid’s Corner,” a calmer, low-sensory area where you can still feed and photograph the friendliest reindeer. Children under 3 must be held by their ticketed adult, and strollers aren’t permitted in either area.
- Kids welcome, with supervision. All ages are admitted, but children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult, and every guest — regardless of age — needs a ticket.
- What to wear. Closed-toe shoes are required. Avoid contact with sheep or goats in the week before your visit — they can carry a disease that’s harmless to them but dangerous to reindeer.
- Food on site. The farm’s concession stand, Blitzen Brew, serves reindeer sausage, Norwegian potato lefse, and espresso drinks if you want a snack before or after.
- Service animals. Dogs, including service animals, aren’t permitted inside the reindeer enclosure.

Tours run rain, shine, or snow, and only close in rare, severe weather (if both mountain passes shut at once). In summer, afternoon tours pause whenever temperatures climb above 85°F to keep the herd comfortable, so mornings are your best bet on hot days; the farm also runs evening “Summer Nights” tours on select dates from June through August. If you’re hoping to meet a newborn calf, most babies arrive starting in mid-April.
