There is no charge to visit Leavenworth and see the lights, so make your plans to visit our beautiful Bavarian Alpine Village – it’s like living inside a magical snow globe!

Go birding with knowledgeable WRI staff around the WRI campus! All birding skill levels are welcome. Need binoculars? We have loaner binoculars that you can borrow.
This is a great opportunity to learn about eBird, the largest biodiversity-related community science project in the world, and utilize it to record our observations of local wild birds. Total walking distance is ½ mile, over a gravel path with two moderate hills. Come prepared for the weather. These walks will happen on the second Wednesday of each month for the whole year. Join us for as many as you can!
Trail difficulty level: beginner level
Trail is wide enough for ADA access, but trails are gravel
Meet outside the River Haus at 8am and plan to be finished by 9:30am. This is a FREE event and no registration is needed.
The Leavenworth Alphorns provide 30 minutes of Alphorn music every Saturday and Wednesday at 2 PM in the Leavenworth Festhalle.
Please join us in the beautifully decorated Leavenworth Festhalle, 1001 Front Street, where you will also find free gift wrapping, free crafts for kids, a gingerbread houses exhibition, international Santa costumes on display, photo opportunities, official merchandise, snacks, and more!

Join the Wenatchee River Institute, A Book for all Seasons, Greater Leavenworth Museum, and the Northwest Ski Museum for a special Red Barn event as we host Lowell Skoog, author of Written in the Snows, and Michael ‘Bird’ Shaffer, for an evening of Northwest ski culture from past to present! Copies of Lowell Skoog’s book will be available for purchase at the event.
This is a FREE event with a donation basket at the door.
Doors open at 6:30pm for a community social with beer and wine available for purchase. The presentation will start at 7:00pm.

Erin McNamee is a Stevens Pass local, with voice and guitar folk stylings that soulful, rustic and deep. Seattle Weekly quotes “… one of the purest voices in this city…” She gigs regionally throughout the NW, and her day job is teaching lessons in voice coaching and multiple instruments in Snohomish, WA. Her specialties are Folk, Blues, Americana, Country and Celtic.
