About Inner Beauty:
Our story dates to the time of ancient China and the meticulous artisans that created intricate paintings on the inside of glass snuff bottles. Capturing images from folklore, traditions and the beauty around them, each individual work of art was created by hand inside of a glass vessel. These ancient techniques have been passed down, generation to generation, to a small number of trained artists that continue their beautiful work today. Inner Beauty gifts are all handmade and no two pieces are exactly alike. These handmade touches provide character to each of our reverse hand-painted works of art. Every piece is special… uniquely beautiful from the inside out.

Hawk Watching with Wenatchee River Institute

Wenatchee River Institute 347 Division Street, WA, United States

Late September is a great time to observe migration of all types of birds, particularly hawks and other raptors if you find yourself high up on a ridge during the day. For this birding trip, we will meet at WRI and load up in our van for a one-hour drive up to Sugarloaf Peak. We will hike roughly 0.5 miles up the unpaved road to reach our destination at the top. Once at the peak, we’ll settle in and scan the skies for migrating birds! You’ll learn about these fascinating birds and their migration from two local birders, WRI Field Educator Tucker Jonas and ornithologist Neil Paprocki. Plan to sit on rocks and hang out near the summit for about 3 hours.

Be prepared for the weather: bring sun & wind protection, a lunch, water, and sturdy shoes. We’ll have loaner binoculars available if you’d like to borrow some!

Limit: 13 participants
Cost: Non-member $50, member $40
Trail condition: easy walk, 0.5 mile dirt road
Transportation provided from WRI

If you’d like to join us on this trip and cost is a barrier to participation, please reach out to us to find out how we can help.

Sit under our clear-topped tent enjoying tasty local and German beers, lively music, and mountain views for days!

We are especially excited to bring our local breweries Icicle Brewing Co., Doghaus Brewery, and Blewett Brewing into the event to pour their beers (including a collaborative ale they are creating just for us) and we’ll have those classic imports from Germany too! For the kiddos a 10,000 sq foot Kinderplatz has been added, free for kids 12 and under, with activities, games, a root beer garden, and a 62ft Ferris Wheel!
