This heartwarming “tale as old as time” astounds with lavish musical numbers and spectacular costumes and sets.
The original Broadway production ran for over thirteen years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
Join Wenatchee River Institute, in partnership with Leavenworth Outdoor Center, on a relaxing evening paddle down the Wenatchee River. This is a guided trip that will introduce you to the plants (flora) and animals (fauna) of our diverse river area (riparian zone). You will learn how to be a better observer of nature and be introduced to river safety and navigation. This is a great way to build your naturalist skills and confidence on the river.
Included: Kayak or paddle board, Life vest (PFD), transportation from WRI

Design your own glass fusing in a variety of shapes using colorful hand-pulled cane and murrine made at our studio. No plate glass used here!
Come to the Boulder Bend Glassworks studio and start your fusing workshop anytime between 10 am to 3 pm. No reservations required. Generally, participants take 40 to 90 minutes to design their glass piece.
Available for ages 7 and up. Participants under 18 require a parent or guardian.
For groups of 6 or more, please inquire regarding a private workshop.

Formed in 2011, Rock Radio provides the music for good times, great listening, and dancing enjoyment. Playing Classic Rock, Pop, Motown, Blues, with a touch of Country, from the late Fifties through the Eighties and more.
A Leavenworth native, Max started playing accordion when he was 6 years old. Endeavoring to find greater depth in his accordion obsession, he switched to the button box at age 14 and began taking lessons annually with his esteemed Bavarian music teacher, Hans Auer. Over 30 years later, Max performs in Leavenworth, Bavaria, Austria, and Northern Italy regularly for tourists world-wide.

Enjoy amazing live music this summer, starting the last weekend in June. We have reserved the stage here on the lawn for your summer entertainment. There is no cover, just come and hang out. Fine wine, meats, cheeses, and artisan crackers are here for your purchase enjoyment. Or, if you bring your own picnic, that’s great too!

Moths are so much more than those “boring” brown things you see in your closet, or those things that “fly in your hair”! They have dazzling patterns, fascinating life histories, and hold a diversity that puts butterflies to shame! The best part – the show is happening in your backyard!
WRI invites you to this introduction to moths and the interactions of the night with Etymologist David Droppers. No need to drive somewhere secluded…bring your cameras, a flashlight, and eyes wide open – Welcome to the Night!

A weekly farmers market with local crafts and goods. Every market day in Leavenworth features live music performances between 9 am – 1 pm as part of our Summer Music Series.
Join WRI and etymologist, David Droppers, as we seek the colorful butterflies of the mountains surrounding Leavenworth! Using catch-and-release methods, we’ll observe butterflies up close (bring your camera), improve our identification skills, and learn the unique life histories of each species. David will also demonstrate the many methods that Lepidopterists use to study butterflies.
