Birding by the River

Go birding with knowledgeable WRI staff around the WRI campus! All birding skill levels are welcome. Need binoculars? We have loaner binoculars that you can borrow.

This is a great opportunity to learn about eBird, the largest biodiversity-related community science project in the world, and utilize it to record our observations of local wild birds. Total walking distance is ½ mile, over a gravel path with two moderate hills. Come prepared for the weather. These walks will happen on the second Wednesday of each month for the whole year. Join us for as many as you can!

Trail difficulty level: beginner
Trail is wide enough for ADA access, but trails are gravel
Bathrooms available at the start and end of the walk

Meet outside the River Haus at 8am and plan to be finished by 9:30am. This is a FREE event and no registration is needed.

Race Overview:

A new kind of event with something for every one and every ability. The Leavenworth Mai BlumenLauf (May Flower Run) features a fun family-style 5k to benefit Cascade Medical Foundation, a Two circuit 10k and a Four circuit half marathon – all right through the heart of Leavenworth’s downtown and its riverfront trails.

Make Your Own Glass Fusing Workshop at Boulder Bend Glassworks

Design your own glass fusing in a variety of shapes using colorful hand-pulled cane and murrine made at our studio. No plate glass used here!

Come to the Boulder Bend Glassworks studio and start your fusing workshop anytime between 10 am to 3 pm. No reservations required. Generally, participants take 40 to 90 minutes to design their glass piece.

Available for ages 7 and up. Participants under 18 require a parent or guardian.

For groups of 6 or more, please inquire regarding a private workshop.
